Introduction of Huzhou City Situated at the heart of shanghai Economic Zone, HuZhou is a mid-size city in southeast China. Huzhou covers an area of 5737 square kilometers with a population of 2.52 million. Huzhou boasts all kinds of terrain, including plains, hills, rivers and lakes. Blessed with a distinct climate in the four seasons, plenty of rainfall, rich mineral resources, Huzhou is one of the fairly developed comprehensive economic regions, in the Yangtse River Delta. State highways No.104 in North-South direction and No.318 in West-East direction, Hang (Hangzhou) Xuan (Xuancheng) Railways which is titled “ the second vital line in East China”, and Chang Hu Sheng channel (a water course from Changxing through Huzhou to Shanghai) named “the golden water course” meet at Huzhou to from a double–cross transport pattern. The Nanjing-Hangzhou expressway running through Huzhou is now under construction; the programmed Xin-Chang Railway and gives Huzhou easy access to Long-Hai Railway and HuHang Railway. Huzhou produces ten percent of silk products, ten percent of freshwater fishes and ten percent of bamboo of China, and is well known as “home of silk, land of plenty, kingdom of bamboo”. In addition, Huzhou enjoys high reputation for its rich natural resources of limestone, granite, marble, bentonite and silicon stone. Huzhou takes pride in its lamb-skins, freshwater pearls, lilies, bamboo, bamboo shoots, gingkoes, chestnuts and rabbit hair. A multi- faced industrial system is forms featuring silk, textile, building materials, machinery and metallurgy, foodstuff processing, medicine, electronics, light-industry, chemicals, of which silk and textile, building materials, machinery and metallurgy, foodstuff processing are the four mainstays. Huzhou is on of the Yangtse River Delta cities carrying out “program in advance, development in advance” under provincial jurisdiction, having six province- level development zones such as Huzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, Mogan mountain Economic and Technological Development Zone, Mougan Economic and Technological Development Zone, Zanxun Exomomic and Technological Development Zone, Changxin Economic and Technological Development Zone, Anji Economic and Technological Development Zone, and Around-Lake-Taihu Agricultural Comprehensive Development Zone. Since the beginning of economic reform and opening to the outside world in china, a series of favorable policies have been worked out by Huzhou municipal government, which greatly fostered foreign trade, helped to utilize foreign investment actively and effectively, promoted carrying out of the export-oriented economical strategy.
